Rhinos – Year 5

Our students continue to follow a full and broad curriculum using Montessori materials and exercises to reinforce all aspects of the English and Math syllabus. Each term students work on Natural History based topics, involving researching all aspects of the subject covered. Poetry and literature play a very important part of a child's development in Year 5.

All projects and topics are reinforced by various events, trips and outings to ancient woodlands, bird sanctuaries, farms and gardens to learn about the environment. Residential trips include the Isle of Wight, the Eden Project, Hilltop and France.

Great attention is given to the pastoral needs of the children within year 5, in particular with regards to the selection of their future schooling.

Mrs Compson, our Headmistress and highly experienced Year 5 class teacher, works tirelessly with each family to ensure that the best school is selected for each child.
