Fairtrade Fortnight ran through the end of February and into March. It was well supported through the Fairtrade stall run by Year 6 children.
On Saturday 6 th March Arbor made an exciting entry into contact rugby at Barnardiston U9 rugby tournament by winning their very first match. They went on to come a very respectable fourth overall in the tournament.
On March 10 th children participated in Moreton Hall's Cross Country. All 15 children from Arbor ran very well and behaved extremely well. Our top runners of the day were Alana Wilson (1 st in U9 girls), James Ross (7 th in U9 boys), Amy Esterhuizen (9 th in U11 girls), Tom Bradbury (6 th in U11 boys) and Oliver Brindley (8 th in U11 boys).
In February matches were held against Fairstead at home. While the U11 football team lost (some of whom were still 8 or 9), the U9 netball team won convincingly.
The Sudbury Festival was supported throughout the weekend. Years 5 and 6 were delighted to cme 1 st for choral speaking and received the overall winners' cup. Years 3 and 4 came 2 nd with Distinction and Year 2 were Commended, also coming 2 nd . Lucy Chandler won the overall U11 Prose Reading Trophy.
All of the Marmosets had a wonderful three days in York visiting the Castle Museum, Dig, Jorvik, Quilt Museum, Minster and, a favourite for some, Betty's Tearoom. Rhinos visited the Discovery Centre and Minsmere while Tigers went to find out about the Second World War at Ickworth.
Grandparents lunches once again gave the opportunity for children to share lunch with their family and classes received letters of appreciation from many grandparents in response.
In the last week of term Years 3 and upward met Tony Irvin, author of The Ant Lion, and heard about his East African experiences which stimulated him to write the book.
